Sons of Southern Ulster specialize in songs and stories deeply rooted in time and place. Hailing from Cavan, their debut album, Foundry Folk Songs, was a warts ‘n all examination of the vagaries, and occasional horrors, of a youth spent in a small border town during the dark days of the 1980’s. A number of tracks were featured on cover CDs for U.K. magazines Vive Le Rock and R2 while lead track, the Pop Inn was named song of the week by the Irish Times.  Their follow up album, Sinners and Lost Souls, is now available. It features artwork by legendary artist Claus Castenskiold whose work has adorned such iconic albums as the Fall’s Perverted By Language, and Mother Juno by the Gun Club.
